Welcome First Years!!!

The lab welcomes our incoming group of first year graduate students Tanner McMinn and Ashleigh Arrington.

Ashleigh is from New York and received her undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics from SUNY New Paltz. In undergrad, she studied dehydrogenations of alcohols using iridium complexes with quinone-backbone ligands under the direction of Dr. Miles Wilklow-Marnell. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, looking at art, and hiking.

Tanner received his B.S. in Chemistry (conc. in ACS Certified Chemistry) from Appalachian State University in May of 2022. At ASU, he worked under the guidance of Dr. Dieter Weber on The Streamlined Synthesis of Silyl Ether Protected Sorbic Alcohol Derivatives from Sorbaldehyde and The Diastereoselective Isomerization of Sorbic Alcohol Derivatives. Tanner enjoys sports, playing jazz music, and wasting time roaming the internet!
